Oh my God! Not “OMG”, but OH MY GOD. Spoken, whispered, shouted, and posted with reverence to EL Shaddai (Lord God Almighty), Jehovah Jireh (The Lord Will Provide), Jehovah Rapha (The Lord That Heals), Jehovah Rohi (The Lord My Shepherd), and other appellations that refer to Him.

Insights are pouring in by text (813-444-4115), email (theajsam@gmail.com), Facebook (AJ Sam Facebook), and through my website (www.theajsam.com/contact/) regarding my latest publication: Recognizing God’s Directions in Your Life – A Journal. These revelations have me considering a new title: Seeking God’s Directions in Your Life.

When I first wrote this journal, the title said it all to me, Recognizing God’s Direction in Your Life.  I viewed it as a way to appreciate, comprehend, and realize God as He directs us in this journey we call life. This is why I chose Jeremiah 29:11 (For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope) as the theme scripture.

But as I’ve become enlightened by the journal writers who’ve responded, I’ve learned this journal means so many different things to many different people. Which, in essence is who God is. Some people are talking about the journey He has for them as they go through life day by day. Others reflect on the goodness of God and how He has brought them through situations that buckled their knees but didn’t break their spirits. Still others spoke on predicaments they were in the middle of, they couldn’t see their way out. And now that this too did pass, they could see it was God who led them out. And many are projecting it toward the future. Even in the midst of a life challenge, they’re recognizing already that God’s plan is good, it’s for their benefit, and they have hope that He will lead them through as He has done before.

I’m getting comments about how this journal is already changing their lives. Helping them to realize God in their lives. Helping them realize that bad things can be used by God to create good things for their lives. How God has taken them through a fiery furnace long before they realized they were in the fiery furnace. How the recognize God is all-powerful, that He provides, that He heals, and that He shepherds us through life’s dangers and toward a hopeful future.

People are telling me about being able to prepare for their lives based on where their life has been with God. I’m receiving excellent insight and thought-provoking suggestions which I am eager to share.

Personally, I can attest to the goodness of God and all His manifestations. Recently I had a challenge in my life, and I thought I knew how to handle it. I did handle it – badly. But when I took a step back, and let go to let God, when I considered God’s directions in my life, I began to shift my thinking.  Instead of asking ‘why me, God?’ or ‘what’s wrong with them, God?’ or ‘why don’t You stop them, God?’ my question became ‘what do You have for me to learn in this situation, God’? My life blossomed, my blessings became more abundant, and here’s the biggest point – I was able to see the love of God for me and so many others.

My wife and I are different. Now, we’re both Christians, we’re both college-educated, we’re both gainfully employed, even though I’m retired now. And we both love each other. But the difference in how we react and interact in certain circumstances created challenges. And I’ve learned that in some of our disagreements, both of us were right and both of us were wrong. Being the man of the Christian house, being the head of a Christian home as the Lord God has allowed me to be, my decision is final. But it doesn’t have to be my decision. I’ve learned to listen to her, to listen to God through her. Many cases early on in our marriage, there would be an argument or even worse – tense silence. Now we have neither. Because God has helped me to ask myself the question; what do you have for me to learn? Then, watch this, I seek the answer to the question He revealed to me. So now, I am simultaneously Recognizing God’s Direction in My Life and Seeking God’s Directions in My Life!
